Although we are growing, Slow Dragon Music is a small, developing team. Do feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for general enquiries and music industry related issues, but please be aware that immediate responses may not be possible.
If you are a band member or representative, please include brief information in the subject matter as to what you are contacting us about – e.g. Band Name followed by ‘review request’, ‘Hordes Of Belial application’, or ‘PR support enquiry’, etc.
Also, please read the further details below regarding specifics for some of the reasons you may want to contact us.
If you would like us to review your new release, we’ll need a few things from you, although you can always send us more if you like.
1) Images. We will need a hi-res (min 300 dpi) copy of your release artwork, plus a recent promotional shot of the band if you have one.
2) Your story! If you have a prepared and up to date biography, that would be ideal.
3) A ‘one sheet’ or press release specific to the item you would like reviewed, giving details of release date, label, genre, band name, release name, contact information interesting facts about the recording of the release, e.g. guest artists, notable producers, unusual methods.
4) The audio. Obviously, we need to hear it to review it. Unlike some other sites, however, SDM will accept pretty much any format we can play; mp3, wav, CD, vinyl. Less common formats will naturally be harder to get listening to, but we can always request a different format from you if we can’t find a way.
N.B. We love nature and the environment, so we do to some degree prefer digital submissions, but also understand that physical product can be part of an artist’s character. If you feel it is imperative to your presentation that it involves a hard copy of your release, please consider lightening the load by sending supporting materials via email, re-using mail packaging, and/or any other clever means you can think of to reduce our collective carbon footprint.
The best way of applying to play a SDM event is to look at what we have on, which generally includes the regular Smashed @ The Tams, and yearly Slaughterpit and Hordes Of Belial.
If you are interested in playing at one of these events, you simply need to email us to tell us which date, and include an audio recording of your music, footage of you performing live, some background on the band, contact information, and links to your social media.
If you’re interested in joining our small family of artists, simply drop us an email, and we can discuss whether this is the right thing for you. This is intended as a stepping stone for underground bands who we believe could be that much more, and to prepare them for any full PR packages they may work on in future.
Underground In Prydain:
UIP aims to deliver interviews which delve into the experiences of musicians and personnel who are successfully breaking new ground. This will hopefully provide some useful insight for newer artists, while also giving interviewees a different angle on promotional press.
If your band, or the people they work with, are doing anything new and unusual in the music industry, we’d be interested in hearing from you. All you have to do is get in contact and have a chat.
