Iron Altar announce tour with Zhora

In an operation of somewhat international gig-swapping, Scotland’s Iron Altar and Ireland’s zhOra have joined forces for a tour across both of their home countries this September. Titled The Sludge Exchange, the tour will take in stops at Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, and Glasgow, with the venue in Scotland’s capital still to be announced.

Described by Louder as “simultaneously primitive and modern… a mindfuck from the opening“, Clonmel’s zhOra proffer a twisted soup of progressive sludge. It’s visceral. It’s cerebral. It’s an exercise in catharsis for band and audience.

No messing; at Slow Dragon Music we’ve loved the “intense, skull-crushing metal” of Iron Altar from day one. In the last year or so, they’ve hauled themselves up into a higher realm. This tour is surely just one more step on their path to higher things.
