The Scottish Metal 2 The Masses Semi-finals of 2020 are all now done!!!
It doesn’t matter how many of these events we get through, the quality of music witnessed just goes from strength to strength. It’s mind-boggling how many great heavy bands there are out there! We already have three bands making their way to the Grand Final in Edinburgh. Those of you who were in attendance will already know who and how, so while you’re reading this, give (yet another) round of applause in your head to Immortal Omen, Nassau, and Suffer Under Sorrow, all of whom nailed their sets in the most recent stage.
However, as we have said from the very start, that is not the be all and end all. Oh no. When spreading these events around the country, the aim was to level the playing field, and continuing in that vein, we have also taken the last two bands for the Grand Final from a pooled result. This means a band who were incredible in one Semi-final, but were just pipped to the post, could still get a shout in the bigger picture.
Two bands made definite gains on this front, with outstanding performances and huge crowd support. Somewhat surprisingly, they both came from the same Semi-final. Scottish metal fans, please welcome to the last stage, Engines Of Vengeance and H8teball!!!
This has been a supremely tight, with every band firing out planet destroying levels of riff-fire, and those who didn’t make it to this stage will not be left by the wayside! However, for 2020, the Grand Final is just that – our final Metal 2 The Masses event of the year. Not only do we have five amazing bands taking part, but they will be joined by previous winners Dog Tired, Ramage Inc. and Grand Elder, all wrapped up with a special edition of Keep It Steel, Edinburgh’s premier metal club night!
