The Hordes X festival has been and gone for another year – and what a monster it was…

A monster which took a big bite out of us… It has to be said, that, despite a much bigger operation, thanks to making little changes, after listening to mutterings in shadowed tavern corners of previous years, and the sterling work of all the staff involved, things ran smoother than ever before! The quality of bands was notably superb as well. Crowd energy maintained a consistent high like we hadn’t experienced as a one-day event in the past.

However, the numbers didn’t quite hit the levels we’ve come to expect from Hordes X. There are a few possible reasons, and all of them are being considered. One thing, though, remains undeniable. The financial damage from lower attendance has put the future of the event in jeopardy. Yes, we could have cancelled, but in-house it seemed like that was the last thing people needed. Seeing it through was costly, but the final bell has not yet rung.

It is at this point in time we would like to ask for your support.

Not for free, mind you. We are running a post-event pre-order of a Hordes X 2024 t-shirt, right up to the start of November. We’ll then be putting in a batch order with our regular printer, and mailing the merch out to you all.

Sizes run all the way up to 5XL, delivered to anywhere in the UK, and all you have to do is send £15 per shirt, via PayPal (friends and family if you could) to sicks6t6@hotmail.co.uk, along with your details and order in the note. Prices include postage and packaging. Print colour may appear brighter than the digital image.

A decent amount of orders have come in already, but, in order to be comfortable in going ahead with Hordes X in 2025, the first stage is to get this year’s overheads across the line.
