Progression update – M2TM: Scotland 2023

With half of 2023’s Scottish Semi-finals now concluded, we’re updating this article to bring you a recap on the state of play.

Here we have the breakdown of which bands have progressed to which Semi-finals, and what happens next. We’ll be updating this article as events come and go. Keep checking in to stay up to date. For quick reference,we’ve included a flow-chart below.

It shows which bands go from which Heat to which Semi-final, and we are now building up the Grand Final! From Edinburgh, Extort head to the main event! Joining them from the Glasgow Semi-final, we have We Make Mammoths.

The final Heat in Aberdeen not only gave us our last two Inverness Semi-finalists – Drekavac and Ray Brower – joining Bloodsun and Under-Volt. It also generated the scores for the last two bands to be added to the runner up rankings. Puppykickers and Grufus came out on top of that over-all recalculation, joining Volcano X and Oceans On Fire at the Dundee Semi-final. Sadly, Uganda’s Moonshine Epidemic have had to pull out.

So, we have;

Dundee Semi-final: Volcano X, Oceans On Fire, Grufus, Puppykickers

Inverness Semi-final: Bloodsun, Under-Volt, Drekavac, Ray Brower

Grand Final: Extort, We Make Mammoths, Dundee winner, Inverness winner, overall top runner up

Tickets for completed line-ups are all on sale now! Whereas the Heats were decided by a 50/50 split of audience and judging, the Semi-finals will switch it up to 75/25. This is in favour of judges scoring. Only ONE band from each Semi-final can go to the Grand Final in Edinburgh, May 06th, joined by ONE top runner up. So, even though audience points might count for less, they could make all the difference when it comes to the crunch.

We’ve set up a limited amount of “blind bird” tickets with Tickets Scotland at £10. With 5 participating bands, plus a run of guest headliners, this is an absolute steal! It only lasts until the full lineup is announced, however. That will come very soon after the last Semi-final in Inverness on March 31st. After that, pre-sales go up to £12, and it’s gonna be £15 on the door! Grab these early, reduced price tickets now, and save yourself a pint’s worth!
