Final Hordes X 2021 lineup
Time waits for no fest!
Yes, we always call Hordes X a “showcase”, but that was catchy, right? There is a story behind it, too. Normally, we’d be well on our way by this stage. It’s been a difficult year, though. We felt we had to be sure of a few more things before starting to really put hammer to anvil. With an already astounding first 6 bands, the doors were wide open to bring the remainder crashing down. And that’s just what we’ve done.
Ladies and gentlemen, the full Hordes X 2021 lineup is now upon you!
Necks are going to ache just thinking about this, so be prepared!
Opening stage 2, one of three bands representing Glasgow this year, it’s Gunpoint X! Only three years old, this “anti-industrial gunmetal” band features members of Let’s Play God, laying out some machine loving riffs. The tribal-meets-mechanical of the late 90s.
We’ve also drawn heavily on the bands involved in out Metal 2 The Masses streaming event. There are a couple of very good reasons for this. Firstly, we really wanted that show to be a proper live event. For the bands, and for you. Unfortunately, back in July, that was not to be. We can now do something about that, though, and have invited most of them to join us for Hordes X.
Both guest headliners, Dog Tired and Ramage Inc. will be returning to Hordes X, after multiple previous appearances. We make no bones about saying they are two of the best metal acts in the country. Don’t believe us? See for yourself.
Secondly, it was said from the start that we wouldn’t be treating M2TM as a “competition” so much as an induction.
A welcoming into, not just the BOA family, but also that of Slow Dragon Music. We had already booked and announced H8teball a long time ago. However, we are proud as hell to welcome the other finalists from the stream, Edinburgh’s Engines of Vengeance, and Glasgow’s Suffer Under Sorrow.
Keeping it in the family, we have one more band returning to Hordes X, after a few years absence. From The Big Smoke, Splintered Halo bring what they call character metal, delving into many twisted themes, with multiple, crazed personalities. It seems an appropriate moment to proclaim “Here’s one from the vaults…”
Finally, there is one more band we have to tell you about. We have hunted this lot throughout most of the Hordes history, only to run into hurdle after hurdle. You may know them from the Grand Theft Auto soundtracks. Maybe just their mad, fun live shows. This band will put party hairs on your chest – Certain Death!
There is more to come, including competitions, merch, and general tomfoolery. Get your tickets here, and get ready for Dundee’s metal party extravaganza!
And don’t forget, Acid Reign and Solitary both hit Glasgow on the Friday night, for a Hordes X Outreach show, courtesy of Goddamned Promotions.
Hail the Hordes!!!
