M2TM Scotland 2025
It has come round to that time of year once more, to reach out around Scotland, hunting for the best heavy music on the underground, for Metal 2 The Masses.
Those of you who have followed the Scottish arm of the project, will already be aware of how Slow Dragon Music operates it. Rather than hosting everything in one venue, we take the Heats and Semi-finals out to the bands, in their nearest towns or cities. So far, we’ve hit Dunfermline, Stirling, Inverness, Fraserburgh, Perth, Kirkcaldy, Dundee, Bathgate, Aberdeen, and Glasgow, as well as Edinburgh where we host the Grand Final.
Progressing through the Heats, Semi-finals, and Grand Final, one band will go on to perform at the UK’s biggest independent metal festival, Bloodstock Open Air! With Bloodstock having recently won a Heavy Music Award for M2TM’s “exceptional positive contribution to the heavy music scene,” all regions are starting to get organised for next year.
Scottish band applications for 2025 are now officially open, with our Grand Final set for April 26th at The Hive in Edinburgh. Heats, Semi-finals, and more information are building up behind the curtain, but, for now, Scottish bands can get involved by sending an email – including their location and links to their music/videos – to:

Since SDM took the M2TM reins North of the border in 2019, we have seen a stunning array of heavy music march from Edinburgh to Catton Hall each August, proving Scotland possesses a true wealth of metal talent.
