M2TM Scotland Goes Digital
In somewhat of a heartbreaking decision, it has been realised that we can no longer proceed with Metal 2 The Masses Scotland 2021 as a live event.
We were somewhat prepared for this eventuality, as discussed in our most recent M2TM update:
“In line with the most recent information and guidelines on re-opening, we are having to keep ticket sales limited to 100 for the time being. We hope thing improve, and restrictions on indoor singing are eased or removed in time for the event. This number will allow for the spacing of tables and other safety provisions for indoor events as stands right now. If the Scottish Government should ease restrictions before the event, we will, of course, free up more tickets. Only time will tell on this front.
This may also mean an earlier finish time than stated, but we are holding out, hoping for the best. When the time comes, we think we will still be able to run the Keep It Steel after party. It is naturally much easier to maneuver than the live show, but if it needs to be pulled to keep you all safe, then that is, sadly, what we will have to do. The same stands if it proves necessary to cancel or postpone the show as whole. If any of this means you want or need refunds, that will always remain an option. Keep watching this page – we will have further updates for you in due course.”
Unfortunately, things have gone the other way. The new, three week extension to lockdown measures takes current restrictions over the July 10th date. With no real information available from the authorities as to what that allows us to do with events, there is no choice but to pull the plug on the live option. That said, we have an alternative plan in action…
We’re going digital…
On the same date, we shall be streaming pre-recorded performances by each of the participating bands, as well as extended guest slots from Dog Tired and Ramage Inc. Sadly, we could not facilitate the same with Grand Elder, but we will absolutely work something out with them in future. Even worse, Dundee’s Immortal Omen have just been in touch today to tell us they can no longer take part. One of their number has tested positive. We will be keeping in touch with them, though, and hope to find a way to make it up to them. The remaining four – Engines Of Vengeance, H8teball, Suffer Under Sorrow, and Nassau – still have everything to play for.
This is a non-ticketed online event
As such, all previously bought tickets can be refunded at the Tickets Scotland website. However, we would very much appreciate donations during the event. La Belle Angele shall be providing a link where you decide how much you put into the pot, and the streaming of the event. Anything you give will be used to cover the costs of bands and crew. Times have been very tight for both, so please, don’t be shy!
To keep up to date with how to get access, how to donate, and how to find out more about the bands, please go to the Facebook event page.
